We have newspaper clients all over the world, including most of the states, that have run successful Bingo promotions. However, we do occasionally run into a newspaper that is interested in changing things up a bit. Whether it’s because of a local law or a sponsor with a specific need, we can modify BestBingoPromo to work for you in your area and your market. Below is a list of some imaginative ways our team has worked with newspapers in the past to run effective promotions to meet their needs. Remember – this is not an all-inclusive list. We’d love to help you overcome any challenge you may be facing!
Modifying the Bingo Game: Shopping Spree Challenge
For example, a newspaper in Iowa wanted to run a “non-Bingo” Bingo promotion to avoid conflicting with some local regulations. So we put our heads together and came up with the Shopping Spree Challenge. Instead of printing numbers on each square, we printed the names of products offered by local sponsors. The newspaper published a featured product each day instead of a call number and players marked off the products as they appeared in the paper just as they would have marked off a call number. Winning cards still had either a diagonal, vertical, or horizontal cover and then the Grand Prize winning card was the one with every product covered.
The Shopping Spree Challenge also allowed the newspaper to sell small blocks that featured their sponsors’ products – a real hit with their advertisers! Each sponsor could choose the level of sponsorship they were comfortable with. Whatever level they chose, they were guaranteed to receive great publicity for their products!
Modifying the Bingo Game: Pizza Challenge
This interesting take on Bingo turned out to be, well, not a whole lot like Bingo at all! The Pizza Challenge involved cards with printed grids, and each grid included five rows and five columns – a lot like Bingo, but wait! Instead of random numbers, some squares included requirements for the game player to complete in order to mark off that particular square.
For example, one square instructed the players to “like” the pizza shop’s Facebook page, while another square required the player to spend a certain amount of money at the restaurant. Each row on the game card offered a different prize – like a free buffet lunch, for example – if each square in the row was covered.
Modifying the Bingo Game: Location, Location, Location!
One newspaper came to BestBingoPromo.com and asked if we could provide a fun game that somehow tied into March Madness. We thought that was a terrific idea, and it got us all thinking about other unique ways we could switch up the traditional Bingo game.
After a little research, we discovered that the newspaper’s hometown was known as the Christmas Tree Capital of the World, and it also happened to be the birthplace of Jimmy Stewart. With these two facts in mind, we began brainstorming ways to incorporate the town’s history into the Bingo game and came up with a terrific idea. Instead of numbers, we could use images from historical spots around town along with characters from the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life” to represent the numbers in each square. Even though the game would be played just like traditional Bingo, the card could be unique to the newspaper’s location, which adds a little something special to the promotion.
The possibilities truly are endless when it comes to Bingo (or non-Bingo) promotions. Here at BestBingoPromo.com, we know that we can’t be successful if you’re not successful first.
