We have run SWC Enterprises’ Bingo Promotion many times over the years. As it has been such a successful promotion for us – we just keep going back to it.
We typically see approximately a 30%+ bump in single copy sales on a Sunday. We always put the card out in a Sunday paper and the BINGO numbers start printing on the following day (Monday). We can’t honestly say we have acquisition numbers tied to this – except when we do a Telephone Order Day and offer to send them an additional BINGO card along with all of the numbers to date – this makes for a great sales tool.
We have many members that look forward to the promotion. We try to run a game each quarter– we know how well the game is received as members call wondering when the next game will begin.
Selling the sponsorship for BINGO is easy because the readers get so involved in the promotion and the sponsor’s ad stay in front of the their potential customers for up to 10 weeks. We run the BINGO ad with numbers in the Classified section and that too is a plus for us.
Sponsors know they get a huge bang for the buck when they advertise on the BINGO cards – we often get repeat sponsors. Our sponsors cover most of the cost and also provide the smaller prizes along the way to the grand prize. BINGO is definitely a win-win for both The Free Press and our sponsors!
Steve and his staff have been very helpful and cooperative. They get the job printed and delivered on time – every time – and have always been very responsive whenever we have questions.
